  • Munch and Learn - Assist in Recruiting and Organizing Speakers

    Our Munch and Learn series is a VERY popular part of our OLLI. We need one or two people to step up and assist Rudy Arena in identifying, recruiting, and scheduling interesting speakers from our local community and across the country.

    Technology can be great – until it doesn’t work.  Learn how to help your Zoom class facilitators with the technology challenges (you don’t need to be a “techie” – we provide training on the ins and outs of Zoom!) Zoom Tech Assistants are assigned to classes they are already taking, so this is a minimal time commitment.

    Assists the Munch and Learn Coordinator by reaching out to the speakers, insuring they are prepared to use Zoom including coaching on how to share a screen.

    Intrigued by Technology? The OLLI Technology Committee needs YOU!We are surrounded by and use technology in our daily lives. But sometimes there is a gap between what we know and what we want to accomplish. The goal of the Tech Committee is to fill that gap with classes and mentoring.

    Just want a short-term commitment?   Join the OLLI Nominating Committee!The OLLI Governing Council has formed an hoc Nominating Committee to help recruit and identify Governing Council candidates. This committee is led by a current Council Member and would love 3 OLLI at-large members to join.  The committee will meet via Zoom one to three times between now and May 1st to help identify and recruit prospective candidates.  After that, your job will be done!  Please consider helping recruit to keep our Council strong.

    Remember the questions you had when you first joined OLLI?  Become a mentor for a new OLLI member and help them feel welcomed to the OLLI family.  This isn't time-consuming. Mentors are just asked to reach out by email and phone to a few new members at the beginning of each session to welcome them and answer any questions they may have.

    OLLI Ambassadors will greet people in the classroom and on Zoom, answer questions, share announcements – and make a big difference!  Ambassadors are assigned to classes they are already taking, so this is a minimal time commitment.

    We need to get the word out about how awesome OLLI is.  Are you comfortable in front of a crowd? Willing (with material provided by OLLI) to go and talk to various community groups about OLLI?

  • Curriculum Committee - Subject Coordinator

    Do you know that our OLLI Curriculum Committee is a key reason we have such an awesome assortment of classes to choose from? Would you like to help? The Curriculum Committee is looking for 2 new members to serve as Subject Coordinators for Arts/Crafts/Games and Health/Nutrition/Lifestyle.  The volunteer should be a current facilitator or have facilitated an OLLI class in the past, but not necessarily in these specific subject areas.

    Do you enjoy planning events? Want to help promote the “social side” of OLLI? The OLLI Social Committee is looking for 2 to 3 new members to help plan get-togethers such as the recent rock painting and line dancing events.

    Do you love OLLI? Have you met people who don’t know what OLLI is? The Marketing Committee is looking for volunteers to help us promote OLLI to Prescott and the wider Yavapai community. We meet about 5 times a year. Help with OLLI's social media, YouTube, periodic print ads and promotion of the Jane Reti Series. Any skill sets help, but the Committee would especially love to have someone comfortable with Social Media.

    Do you enjoy videography? Have you checked out our fun new videos on YouTube or Facebook? Watched our facilitators talking about their classes? If you enjoy videography, consider helping us create more of these fun videos. You don’t need to be an expert!

    Are you comfortable with technology? We need OLLI members with strong technology skills to become Tech Assistants in the Classroom. We provide training so you are comfortable with the classroom technology, and can effectively problem solve and assist Facilitators both during their initial training, and during class as issues arise. Classroom Tech Assistants are assigned to classes they are already taking, so this is a minimal time commitment.

    Have some special interests? Become a Class Facilitator and share your knowledge or facilitate discussions about a topic you enjoy and learn from others. You don't need to be an expert!

  • Governing Council

    Every spring we recruit OLLI members to fill open spaces on the OLLI Governing Council.  Council Members are elected from OLLI membership and may serve up to three consecutive 2-year terms.  The Governing Council sets OLLI’s strategic direction and policies, approves the budget and oversees program operations. If you want to get involved in making sure that our OLLI stays awesome, please consider running for a position on the Governing Council.

  • Curriculum Committee. We would love to add someone who can reliably attend nine (1.5-hour) Curriculum Committee meetings per year. The Committee helps find and develop instructors and reviews each of our 5 catalogs. If you are interested in participating, let me know. We will tailor your role to your interests, but we could use someone who loves to write to review submissions for clarity of expression.

    Ambassador Outreach. We need to find a lead for a program that works with staff and identifies someone to handle a few extra tasks, such as taking attendance, helping facilitators, and welcoming new members. Prescott has found this to be highly successful in supporting classes and their success.

    Other roles. Help distribute catalogs and coupons (if you are not already). Reach out to new members. Join our Advisory Committee. Volunteer to serve on the Leadership Council beginning May 2027 that meets in Prescott monthly. Help get press releases into the news.
